I’m fundraising for mental health & bullying awareness in the queer population of Australia
Hi. My name is Kasin and I’m a queer person who’s been struggling with my mental health since I was very little. I want to raise awareness for mental health and bullying for the queer community because no one seems to talk about it.In school, around 60% of queer/LGBTQ+ community members have experienced verbal abuse and around 30% of them have experienced physical abuse; due to this, LGBTQ+ people are three times more likely to experience depression or anxiety. In terms of suicide, LGBTQ+ people are three to five times more likely to commit, think about, or attempt suicide than their homosexual peers.
